MEGAN MCGARRY TRIO
Americana songstress and multi-instrumentalist, Megan McGarry, is joined by her dad, Chris McGarry, on mandolin and Marc Prave on the upright bass. Combining the rich sounds of clawhammer banjo, fiddle, mandolin, mandola, guitar and upright bass, the trio will present a blend of homegrown Appalachian music homegrown in Central Pennsylvania. They play a mix of old-time tunes, bluegrass standards, and original songs that represent a sound from days of old.
Megan McGarry Fiddle, Clawhammer Banjo, Guitar, Vocals

Singing and playing clawhammer-banjo, fiddle, mandolin, and guitar, she presented a collection of original folk music influenced by the sounds of traditional American roots music. After graduating, she spent two years teaching music abroad before moving home to open McGarry Music Studios.
Megan’s love of fiddle and banjo and appreciation for old times shine through her song selections for the stage as well as her studio.
Chris McGarry Mandolin, Mandola, Guitar
Chris picked up the mandolin in search of a hobby in his early twenties. His father played music throughout his childhood, but he and his brothers and sisters all learned how to play roots instruments in adulthood. Chris closely studied the recordings of Bill Monroe, Ricky Skaggs, and Clarence White, to name a few influential artist. He played in a variety of bands including the regionally touring band, The Dusty Trout.
Megan started appearing on stage with her dad and his bluegrass band at around age 7. Shortly after, Chris McGarry started receiving calls requesting their father-daughter duo to perform at local club meetings and arts festivals. He coached and accompanied Megan as she competed in fiddle competitions around the state of Pennsylvania during the summer months. He accompanied her when she won the title of Pennsylvania State Fiddle Champion in the Junior Division for two consecutive years, 2007 and 2008.
Chris and Megan have performed state-wide as a duo for almost two decades including performing the former Pennsylvania State Governor Tom Corbett.
Marc Prave Bass, Vocals
Chris and Megan are joined by long-time friend Marc Prave. Marc is a self taught musician and artist. A singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, band leader and sideman, Marcs storied path has been carved by inspiration from the world around him and the desire to follow the elusive muse that spurs him to create. Seeking and experimentation are the true drive behind his journey and the “experience” gained from this curious lifestyle is the true payment for what he does…
