AS An educator, I STRIVE to encourage and inspire.
*** Goal: Obtain a well-suited student teaching placement. Gather a substantial clientele of students for my private instruction business.
Summary: My role of "educator" is a big part of my identity. As a music education major at Berklee, I've continually worked to expand my knowledge and skills as a K-12 educator, and am excited to participate in my student teaching next semester. I also teach workshops and private violin, banjo, guitar, and voice lessons. My biggest passion and interest is strings education, so in order to dive deeper in to this area of music education, I started a student organization, bASTA (Berklee Chapter of the American String Teacher Association), geared towards the professional development of strings teachers, instructors, and directors.
With the help of some really great people & musicians, I've founded a student organization called bASTA (The Berklee Chapter of the American String Teacher Association) this semester. This club is geared towards the professional development of strings teachers, instructors, and directors! On Friday, April 7th, 2017 we had our first event: "String Swap!"
This event was open to all Berklee students as an opportunity to learn more about a new stringed instrument and gain some hands-on teaching experience. Students were paired off to spend 20 minutes teaching each other a new instrument. The event concluded with a super fun jam and a discussion!
